What You Can Do: New Volunteering Page

Truckloads of information have been carted onto the foundation’s website. Please take a look.

Information on volunteering at the Foundation has been elaborated. It can be found on a new page, titled What You Can Do.
Details for sponsors, including bank information and specific one-time and monthly program requirements have been listed out on the Be A Sponsor page.
Our three Areas of Action have been moved into our vision statement.

News to Report

The documents section on our website is finally ready! It can be found at www.samikshafoundation.com/docs/

The scenery there includes:

Curriculum vitae of some of our core team members
The scanned versions of the handouts we have for parents and for volunteers
Reports and presentations – our quarterly reports, important research, presentations and minutes of our meetings

The documents page uses a newly made form system. Click the bubble next to the document you wish to see and hit “Show/Hide Document”. Hit the button again to hide the document.

Adobe Reader is needed to see the documents, which are in PDF form. If you encounter any problems viewing the documents or have any suggestions regarding this section, please send them to aditya[at]samikshafoundation.com.

Website Changes

The website changes announced earlier have been completed. It took much less time than we thought.

For those who didn’t see the older post, the changes are nothing drastic.

Page names have been changed to the PHP file format:
e.g. samikshafoundation.com/gallery.html has become samikshafoundation.com/gallery.php
The URL for the home page is the same: http://www.samikshafoundation.com
The home page has a new picture.
A link to the gallery is now on all pages.

The blog has not been changed.

If the site does not work, please let us know. Your feedback on the website and blog are, as always, appreciated.

A Brand New Gallery…Again

We have gone through many changes regarding the photo gallery on our website. At first it was on a page named Image Gallery. Photos then went to Facebook, and then to our ZenPhoto gallery. However, due to certain site issues, we have decided to put all our photos on Picasa, and let you view the list of albums straight from the website.

To view our photos, go to http://www.samikshafoundation.com/gallery.php. Click the links there or go directly to http://picasaweb.google.com/happinessquotient to view the photos.

Nearly all the photos we have taken at each of our events has been put up for you to see. The Children’s Day program snaps should join the rest within a day or two.

Blidget

Our home page has a new addition: a blidget. It is the little pink box on the right, underneath the table of links.
Every time we post something on the blog, it will show up in a box on our home page. This makes it easier for you to know when we have updated the blog.

Image Gallery

We have a new photo gallery on our website! The photos on our Facebook page will remain where they are, but we will also copy them to the new gallery. All photos we take during the course of our work from now on will go to the new gallery.

Everyday Stories

Our website had a page titled Everyday Stories, where we wrote down our experiences while working with the children at Kidwai.
This page has now moved to the blog, so that we can update easily. It also has a new name.

Stories We Have To Tell can now be found on the right, under Categories.

The original stories can be found there as well. Any new stories will show up here, on top of the blog page.

Our Website Graduates

For those who noticed the two new icons on our home page -

- and were wondering what they are…

We got our site checked by the World Wide Web Consortium, who basically set all the guidelines for Web designers. (They rule the web.)
Their software found our site to be up to the mark. It should also work fine in any browser.

And so, we are allowed to display the fancy images you see above on our site.
